Février mois de l’amour, Février mois de la découverte qu’elle soit bonne ou mauvaise, je n’ai pas chaumé, j’ai fait beaucoup de musiques, je suis rentrée dans la tête d’un super héros pas si héros, j’ai bossé en équipe sur une montagne et dans un bureau, j’ai découvert l’un des plans B de la CIA, j’ai suivi un enlèvement de près finissant par découvrir un monde parallèle, j’ai fait la rencontre d’un petit monstre pas comme les autres, j’ai souffert du syndrome Fregoli qui a augmenté mon instinct d’espion me menant dans une forêt au Japon où je n’ai pas trouvé que du plaisir. Un mois de février rempli de bonne et de mauvaise aventure.

Pour les connaisseurs le film pourra paraître bien sage mais pour les amateurs ce sera une petite découverte d’une histoire parsemée d’embuches. Il aura fallu des années pour que le projet prenne forme, accepté par la Newline qui après sa fusion avec la Warner Bros abandonne le projet utilisant comme prétexte qu’un casting 100% black ne serait pas séduisant pour les marchés étrangers… C’est Universal Pictures qui va corriger cette erreur et reprendre le projet, grâce à un casting rempli d’inconnu aux performances puissantes et naturelles, les studios et le réalisateur arrivent à créer une petite pépite divertissante.

Straight Outta Compton c’est un regard intime sur le groupe N.W.A qui a inventé le gangsta rap, c’est un regard un peu plus profond sur Easy-E, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, Mc Ren et DJ Yella, c’est une brillante reconstitution d’une époque, c’est un combat pour la liberté d’expression, c’est surtout l’histoire de jeunes musiciens qui sont aller chercher ce qu’on leur disait impossible à avoir: le rêve américain.

« Il y avait un millions de façons de faire ce film de travers. Et peu de le faire bien. » Ice Cube, interview Cinemateaser.

Pour un film qui dure 2h30 les longueurs sont minimes, on est emporté dans un tourbillon de musique, de violence, de joie et de tristesse, ressortant de ce film avec un sentiment de découverte qui fait du bien. Entre vérité et mythe Straight Outta Compton est un biopic divertissant qui revient sur les influences culturelles, sociale et politique qu’a pu avoir le groupe N.W.A, on pourrait y voir le miroir d’une époque pas si révolue que ça et arrivé à la conclusion que parfois une société n’arrive pas à tirer les leçons importantes de ses erreurs.

Straight Outta Compton est une épopée hip-hop dans une ville en pleine révolution, qui a du punch et qui divertira les connaisseurs comme les amateurs.
